Million Dollar Experiment

I came across this experiment in a blog I found today. It’s based on the intention-manifestation model of reality, where the goal is to generate $1 million of additional wealth for each person who chooses to participate. The rules are simple, participation is free.

The concept is that we collectively “put forth” and intention each day and the laws of attraction will bring additional wealth into our lives. The post is outdated so I’m bringing it back to life so we can manifest millions for each other. To participate, all you need to do is put forth this intention for 60 seconds every day:

In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way, in it’s own perfect time for the highest good of all, I intend $1,000,000 to come into my life and into the lives of everyone who holds this intention.

It doesn’t quite roll off the tongue so there’s a couple of freebies to help you remember each day.

Help You Remember

  • RSS Feed – a reminder sent to your reader every day.
  • Wallpaper – a little cheezy, but hey, we‚Äôre talking about $1M

Disclaimer

I did not come up with this experiment and have no idea if it will work. The guy who did claims they accumulated $5,677,075.71 with 1599 active participants. I don’t quite have that many readers, but I’m sure we can muster up 50 bucks between us!

Tomato, Basil & Olive Feta Skewers

Posted on Jul 24, 2008 in health | 0 comments

tomato basil feta skewers

This is an easy and delicious starter. The original recipe only used tomatoes and feta, but I made some with olives instead and they’re delicious. Very good with an ice cold beer!

Ingredients

6 ripe cherry tomatoes
6 Kalamata olives pitted
12 cubes of feta
12 fresh basil leaves
1 clove garlic, crushed
Extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp dried thyme
12 toothpicks

Method

If you have bought the feta as a block, cut your 12 cubes – carefully so that the cheese does not crumble. Place the cubes in a shallow dish. Mix a few tablespoons of olive oil, garlic and thyme together and pour over the cheese cubes. Cover and refrigerate overnight, turning the cubes once or twice for even coating.

When you are ready to serve, rinse the tomatoes and thread onto each skewer: 1 tomato or olive, 1 basil leaf, and 1 cube of feta (again, be careful that the cheese does not crumble and fall apart). Balance each skewer on its block of cheese and serve with drinks.

How to Become an Early Riser

Posted on Jul 24, 2008 in health | 0 comments

early riser

I’m not proud to admit this, but there was a time in my not too distant past that I used to struggle to get out of bed by 7:30. Now I easily get out of bed with the sunrise, usually around 5:30-6:00am. The radical change started in June returning from our London trip with a good dose of jet lag, so I cheated a bit. But I managed to keep it up and its been such a positive change in my life.

Here’s a few things I did to make early rising easier for me.

  • Find a sanctuary to enjoy your morning. I love our front porch. Its the perfect perch to people watch and enjoy the incredible sunrise.
  • Spend the time doing something that is purely for you. I read a book, do some yoga, maybe go for a run. This is my reward for getting out of bed.
  • Get to bed on time. This is hard for me because I love late nights. But our bodies need at least 7 – 9 hours every night. And there‚Äôs no catching up on sleep. (source: National Sleep Foundation)
  • Give up alcohol (or at least cut back). More than one drink is like having an espresso around 2am. I‚Äôm wide awake and can‚Äôt fall back to sleep. I gave up alcohol entirely for 3 weeks in June and can‚Äôt believe the difference.
  • Give up (or cut back) caffeine. Since moving back to the US, I drink a strong cup of coffee each morning. I just ordered some Teecino to help me break the addiction. I‚Äôll let you know how it works.
  • Count your blessings (instead of sheep). As I go to sleep I try to recognize at least 5 thinks I‚Äôm thankful for that day. What a great way to drift off.
  • Take a nap if you can. I like to sneak in a nap every weekend. It‚Äôs blissful and the best reward for getting up early all week. If only I lived in Spain where siestas are part of the culture!

Welcome to My New Look

my new look

The theme of my blog will now focus on three topics : health, wealth & happiness. About a year ago my life started to focus almost exclusively on these three things. And in the last month its snowballed.

During the course of the past year, I passed along my discoveries to friends here and there. But now I want to collect them in one place and share them with a wider audience. And hopefully you’ll share your discoveries in return.

I also created a new look for my blog to reflect the new topics. This design is perfect for sharing some of my photography too.

If you’re searching for my older posts, they can be found on Stickyseeds.com Рmy business site. (image: pixdaus.com)
